Special thanks to Esquire Cleaners at 302 East Second Street Jamestown, NY. Linda Crossley has generously allowed us to place one of our historical magnet displays in her business and because of Linda and her customers, more than a couple hundred dollars has made its way to the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation Trolley Fund. Thanks !!!
Special thanks to the Jamestown school teacher for his $50 donation to the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation Trolley Fund. Very generous. Jeff was one of the first people I mentioned the project to. He reached into his pocket and handed me a $50 bill.
Jeff visited the website not too long ago. He gave me a call and said he thought he could help with the project. He has come up with a few ideas we are exploring and has recently procured a nice donation from the MRC Federal Credit Union (see below). Thanks Jeff !
Special thanks to the MRC Federal Credit Union for their $100 donation to the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation Trolley Fund. Very generous.
Special thanks to the organizers of this event. Though their purpose is to raise money for Babe Ruth baseball, they have been nice enough to let me "horn" in on their day by letting me display trolley and other local historical memorabilia for the purpose of encouraging donations to the trolley fund. 2003 was the best year yet, we received over $200 in donations for the trolley fund.
Special thanks to the former City of Jamestown Fire Chief for his $100 donation to the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation Trolley Fund. Very generous.
Special thanks to the local antique / collectible dealer for his $50 donation to the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation Trolley Fund. Very generous.
Special thanks to Mr. Nichols for his $200 donation to the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation Trolley Fund. Very generous.
Special thanks to the JHS Class of 1943 for their $200 donation to the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation Trolley Fund. Audrey Johnson one of the organizers of their 60th class reunion contacted me about making button magnets as a commemorative of the event. With her help the experience led to the very generous donation to the trolley fund made in memory of my father Donald P. Johnston a class of '43 alumni. Other members of the class have since contacted me and procured prints and magnets we have made by making personal donations to the trolley fund. Currently this additional amount is $26.
The Chautauqua Region Community Foundation provides a wonderful tool for people to honor, remember, promote, various interests through the use of endowment funds. When the fund that was set up in memory of her daughter wasn't able to reach a level where it could be sustained, Nona graciously requested that the money ($400+) be transferred from the Dawn Chase Memorial Scholarship Fund to the Jamestown Street Railway Trolley Car #93 Restoration Project Fund. Thank You.
Thanks Mom for supporting your son by supporting the trolley effort.
